Brookes scoops LuxLife Private Education Award for “nurturing atmosphere”
Brookes UK School in Risby near Bury St Edmunds has been named Suffolk’s Most Outstanding Small Independent School 2021 by LuxLife Magazine.
Beating competition from eleven other schools across the county to the title, the senior and lower school at Brookes’ was highlighted for its passion, commitment and “dedication to the pupils’ educational and personal development”.
Head of School, Natalie Taylor, was pleased to receive the award on behalf of Brookes, which caters for children aged two to 16:
“We’re delighted to be recognised with this award – a testament to the hard work and constant focus on the children’s wellbeing that’s become a blueprint for the way we operate.
“We’re really pleased that the judges felt our rural setting, indoor and outdoor environment, and child-centred approach worthy of recognition.”
“Brookes UK’s supportive and caring teaching practice, coupled with its unique and innovative educational framework makes this school an obvious choice for recognition in the view of the judging panel.”
David Rose, Director of Europe, Middle East and Asia at Brookes Education Group – the international organisation behind Brookes UK – highlighted the school’s development over the past year and a half:
“This is a brilliant accolade for our West Suffolk school, which is making great progress in enhanced and individualised teaching, especially considering the challenging situations that COVID has brought in – getting those children who have lost their love for learning back on track.”
Comments from the judging process said Brookes was “recognised by the judging panel for its child-centric ethos” and “nurturing atmosphere”, and acknowledged the recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report showing “Brookes UK’s approach is holistic and ensures that pupils are developed not just as learners, but also as wholly functioning members of society”.
The feedback continued: “Brookes UK’s supportive and caring teaching practice, coupled with its unique and innovative educational framework makes this school an obvious choice for recognition in the view of the judging panel.”
