Design, Create, Bake! – A Sweet IB Adventure
Some of our Junior School students have spent the week diving into an exciting IB-style Design & Technology project—and they’ve absolutely loved every minute of it!
Over three days, our young innovators explored real-world packaging design, analysing how shape, colour, and texture are used to attract and inform. They sketched ideas, discussed design choices, and collaborated to create their very own biscuit packaging—applying their knowledge of 2D & 3D shapes, nets, and materials.
And the icing on the biscuit? They baked the biscuits themselves to fit perfectly inside their custom-made designs!
The project connected beautifully with other areas of learning, including maths, science (healthy eating), and English (persuasive writing and speaking & listening)—a brilliant example of cross-curricular, hands-on learning the IB way.
It’s been a fantastic week of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and of course… delicious results!
