Junior School (PYP)
Our Junior School provides a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where children grow academically, socially, and emotionally at a pace that suits them. As the UK’s newest International Baccalaureate (IB) school, we follow the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), a student-centred, inquiry-led curriculum that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Through a transdisciplinary approach, students make meaningful connections across subjects, explore real-world concepts, and develop the skills needed to thrive in a global society. With a focus on independent learning and personal growth, we empower students to be future-ready and prepared for success in an ever-evolving world.
What is Primary Years Programme at Brookes?
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) at Brookes is designed to foster a love of learning through inquiry-based opportunities that explore a broad range of environmental, social, and cultural concepts. This approach encourages students to understand the importance of taking action and promotes a motivational and ambitious learning culture. By engaging in the PYP, Brookes students develop a strong sense of individual and collective responsibility in decision-making and advocacy, as well as skills in creative design and innovative thinking.
We provide a supportive environment in which each child can flourish, learn at their own pace and in their own individual way. Our superb learning support team work alongside the class teacher and carefully monitor each child’s progress to ensure they are achieving their full potential.
We invite you to join our family and unlock your potential.
